SENSATIONAL !!! A fantastic time was had by all who attended the Raggies Ball on Saturday night (24/7/99). The night was full of great food, good music and fine wine. The Cash Bonanza draw was won by the Gold Guru syndicate which oddly seemed to have a few extra members joining in the celebrations. Would you believe last years winner, Adrian 'Nostradamus' Hart, selected the winning number 98 for his syndicate. Rumour has it there will be a joining fee for the syndicate that Farty starts up next year. The evening began at 7pm for pre-dinner drinks in the foyer before heading into the magnificent Norwood Concert Hall for dinner. The hall looked fantastic done up in burgundy, yellow and silver. Farenheit 451 began with some slow numbers and the dance floor was packed from go to whoa. Mister Charisma mingled with the guests and showed some slight of hand tricks before performing some juggling acts with machetes and fire. With his final act he performed a Houdini trick by escaping from chains padlocked and rope tied around him by Steve Young. Farenheit 451 then upped the tempo on the dance floor and it was packed again. A raffle was run for a $150 shoe voucher from Barlows Shoes (Randy Whittenbury), a night at the O'Connell Inn North Adelaide, a Pullmans restaurant voucher from the Adelaide Casino and some fine wines from Glenara Winery (Ralph Verrall). Congratulations to all winners. As the night wore on the guests were entertained by some exotic table top dancing from Pieter Spencer and Paul Zoontjens. The award for the person who danced with the most ladies went to none other than Andrew 'Would you like to dance' Spencer. Boy can he dance. Farenheit 451 continued the party music through to 1 in the morning. Thanks needs to go to the Social Committee for organising such a great night and now all we can do is count the days down to next year's ball.
