BEN ECKERMANN

Ben Eckermann made his debut with Port Power in the AFL last Sunday following good performances for Sturt in the SANFL. In his debut game he had 10 possessions (8 kicks, 2 handballs and 5 marks) in 60 minutes of game time and kicked 2 points. One local scribe described his performance as "made a strong fist of his AFL debut, gathering 10 possessions and not looking lost on the big stage". Great to see Ben do well in his first game. DRAFT INFORMATION

Ben Eckermann, a Raggies junior who has just completed another successful season at Sturt, was drafted by Port Power in the national draft last Saturday.

Ben played with the Raggies up until U/15's before heading to Sturt where he won the 2003 McCallum Medal as the Under 17's Best and Fairest. He also played in the Sturt Under 17 premiership side of 2003.

At this year's National Under 18 Championship, in which South Australia narrowly lost to Victoria Metro, Ben was awarded with All-Australian selection and also South Australia's Most Valuable Player award.

The Raggies wish Ben all the best for his future aspirations in AFL football. Ben is most certainly going to be a player of the future and one that we can all be proud to point out is from the Raggies.

WELL DONE BEN.
