After a promising start we squandered a few opportunities and at one stage our scoreline was 1.5. A similar scenario to last week and one just wonders if we convert these opportunities if that would make a difference to the complexion of the game.

At half time we trailed by a couple of points although it just seemed that Kilburn were going to kick away. We hoped not but unfortunately they did just that in the second half.

Apart from 2 brief periods, late in the second and last quarters, we struggled to score goals in succession. We came within 2 points late in the last quarter with a good goal to Ben Brown. From the next bounce we won the ball out of the middle through Luke Taverner, but turned it over at half forward from which Henley scored a goal. They put through another one to seal the game.

Our third quarter again casued concern as we failed to score for the second time this season. We have managed only 2 goals in this quarter this season. Not good for the most important quarter of the game.

Of the better players, Tavs was very good in the centre, Matt Parkin followed well, Andy picked up quite a few touches, Jarred Tessari had quite a good game across the back line and Spence was solid. Jason Chigwidden also had a red hot go when he came on in his first A grade game.

It was cold, wet and windy, it hailed, it was the coldest May day in Adelaide on record. It was a pretty even contest after quarter time. In the first quarter, Goodwood were kicking them from everywhere.

Finally, what we have been working towards for the past few weeks happened. We won, a bloody good win too. In perspective, Glandore beat Kilburn 2 weeks ago, and yesterday Kilburn beat previously undefeated Broadview. Not bad eh!

In the first quarter we blitzed them, we were doing everything, they were hardly touching the ball. Even the umpiring seemed to be going our way early. Shanks provoked Eugene "10,000" Warrior into taking a swing at him, 10 minutes in the sin bin plus a free against play.

The second quarter was a lot tighter, but we kicked 2 late goals to maintain a significant advantage at half time.

The third quarter we let them back in as we could only manage a solitary goal. The signs were a bit worrying as Glandore felt they could come right back at us.

The last quarter we stood up and but for some inaccurate kicking could have won by more. Glandore flattered themselves by kicking 2 late goals in time on. Very pleasing win. Great to see the boys do it for Spence's 150th.
